Yes, today is special to me. It is my four year anniversary for being sober/clean. I give all the credit for this to the One that deserves all credit - Jesus! He helps me daily to stay away from that old life of misery that I know very well. Thank you Lord for all things! Amen!

My eight month math trek is finally over. I came out of Math 107 (College Algebra) with a B. I will take that! I will even smile as I take it! I have never had so much information crammed down my throat in all my life. I’m not really happy with the way things went, but I’m glad it’s over. I’m also not happy with the amount of money ($2000+) I had to pay just to get three credit hours. But, I have College Algebra, and it can’t be taken away from me! I can say that I know what a parabola is now, and I know what prime numbers are. I can find equations of lines and factor polynomials. I sure am glad it’s over with! I’m starting my second programming class June 4th. It’s going to be a challenge!

This past weekend I took a History course about the Battle of the Bulge. Saturday was an all day lecture, then on Sunday we went on a field study. I never realized that this battle took place all around where I live. Other battles were very close as well. I’ve gone to a small town in Belgium named Malmedy several times since I came here. I never new what took place there until I took this course. German regimental commander Peiper’s troops killed several Belgian civilians and unarmed American POW’s during their reign of terror through the Belgian countryside. It was a touching experience to see all the memorials to say the least.

The following is a link to a Wikipedia article about the massacre:
