I’m learning some really cool things in Biology, like mitosis (asexual cell reproduction) and meiosis (sexual cell reproduction). Somatic cells of the body are responsible for building new tissue, whereas germ cells (germline, not infectious germs) are responsible for sexual reproduction. Meiosis is the process of the sexual cells’, or germ cells’, reproduction. Early in the process of meiosis, there is something that happens that causes us to have particular traits. This is called crossing over. Sister chromatids trade gene information with each other. Scientists say this process is random, although I believe it is how God designs each nuance of who we are. This process is very important, and if things go wrong, it can cause abnormalities in multicelled organisms. God designs each one of us for His purpose, and it’s here that some of the design takes place. The environment can cause changes in organisms, which is another way God molds us. He allows us to go through things in life that bring us closer to Him and His cause. It’s hard for us to understand why people have to suffer, people that seemingly don’t deserve to. But God sees the whole picture, His picture, His perfect picture. As believers, we will know all these things one day. That will be the day we see Jesus face to face…
