It’s bad enough to get an operation, but it may be worse to get one in a foreign country! That is what I had to do on the morning of January 29th, 2008. I think the Dutch heart surgeon referred to it as a “preventive measure.” Whatever the proper name may be, it basically is the surgical procedure that uses a stent to open up a previously semi-clogged main artery(s) of the heart. In my case it was two arteries. One was 90% blocked, and the other was 75%. By the grace of God, I came through it! It is truly amazing what surgeons can do these days, even in foreign countries. I had an experience at a Dutch hospital (Maastricht) that I will certainly not forget. I received nothing less than excellent treatment, and I’m not even a Dutch national!

If you happen to read this, and you prayed for me, thank you! If you read this, and you didn’t pray for me, thank God! He is worthy of all our praise, worship, and thanks!

Today, I am forty-eight years of age! It seems as though it was only yesterday that I was playing little-league baseball. Where has all the time gone?

Well, here it is, 2008. My, how time has flown by! Christmas in Barcelona was pretty cool. We had a great time. I’m a little upset over a miscommunication with my college about the break for the holidays, so I worried a lot while in Spain about preparing for my classes. Come to find out, I didn’t have to do anything for that whole week! Oh well, what can I say… Two more weeks, and the Biology will become history. My next class is Psychology 101. Maybe I’ll learn how my mind got so twisted over the years.

So, here we go with another year. I hope we can have a good year. I hope I can get some classes behind me. All this studying can become painful at times. Anyway, as you read this, whoever you are, I wish you all the best in 2008!
