D, I only knew you for a brief time. But what I do know of you is that you were a charming person. I’m sorry that your life ended at such a young age – 19. I wish I would’ve said something to you that day when I saw a look of desperation. But, I didn’t, and for that I am sorry. I can only hope that you knew the Lord Jesus before your life ended. If so, you are in a much better place my friend. I pray that the Lord Jesus will comfort your mother through this sad time. Amen.

May you rest in peace, D.

D’s life was taken as the result of a car accident on 28 June 2009 on A 79 in the Netherlands.

is a biological term that represents the “interchange of chromosome segments: the interchange of segments between homologous chromosomes during cell division meiosis, resulting in new combinations of gene types alleles and therefore variability in inherited characteristics” (MSN Encarta). Crossing over is the process that defines our personality. It defines everything about us! It determines how much our eyes will look like which parent, etc.

While taking a Biology class in college last year, I had to learn about this process. It didn’t take long for me to see how God uses this biological phenomenon to form us to His liking. This is where He designs us to be the person He wants us to be.

This is one process that stumps the top biologists in the world. They can’t figure out why this crossing over happens in the way it does, and I don’t think they ever will. God is truly amazing, even down to the smallest details in life.
